PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITIES
Attendance
Attend all sessions, arrive on time, and remain until the session ends. Our goal: quality time, every time, from beginning to end! You are allowed no more than two absences.
Actively participate in all classroom dialogue, exercises, and case study work.
Notify the Program Assistant in advance of unavoidable absences or the need to be late for any or activity. Excessive absences may require postponing your participation in the current class. Options for continuing participation in the program will be evaluated by the Program Director.
Whenever possible, actively participate in LAJCC projects and programs.
Actively participate in the fundraising and preparation of the class graduation.
Board Training
Meet with participating organizations at the Board Training Organization Fair to determine your board internship.
Your internship with a Board Training Organization is designed to be a hands-on experience to become acquainted with staff, organization structures, company mission, vision, strategic plan, as well as policies and procedures.
During your internship, maintain contact with the Executive Director (or other staff contact) and a Board Member Coach who will provide written or verbal evaluation of your progress.
Provide reports as required. These include: on-going accounts of your board training experience and project hours, a project summary; and a comprehensive final report.
Seek service at the governance level following graduation.
