BOARD COACH EXPECTATIONS

Board Coaches partner with RVLDP Interns to guide them through their board training experience in these ways:

Prior to the Board Training Experience
  • Participate in the RVLDP Board Training Organization Fair for the current class. This provides the coach and the prospective interns an opportunity to begin to know one another.
  • Be open to contact from RVLDP Interns during the month following the fair.
During the Board Training Experience
  • Establish guidelines and boundaries for the intern's participation in board/committee meetings.
  • Brief the intern prior to board meetings, providing an agenda, background on the topics to be discussed and expected strategies. Debrief the intern following the meeting.
  • Provide support, guidance, and encouragement in board committee or task force work.
After the Board Training Experience
  • Conduct a verbal evaluation with the intern and provide feedback to the RVLDP director.
